DriveTime SMS Notifications

DriveTime allows users to notify selected contacts when they are available to chat while driving.

DriveTime does not send marketing or promotional SMS messages. DriveTime SMS messages are transactional notifications related to activity within the service.

Opt-In Paths

DriveTime currently uses two consent flows for SMS notifications.

1. Registered user enables SMS

A registered user can enable SMS notifications in the app settings by checking a non-preselected checkbox before submitting. The consent language shown in the product is:

This flow is for the account owner enabling SMS on their own number.

2. Non-user contact invited by phone

If someone you know enters your phone number through a DriveTime invite flow, you may receive a one-time SMS message asking if you would like to receive availability notifications from that person. No additional messages are sent unless you reply YES or ALL.

What You Are Signing Up For

By checking the consent box or replying YES, you agree to receive transactional SMS notifications from DriveTime related to availability activity.

DriveTime: You have been unsubscribed and will receive no further messages. Reply HELP for help. Support: [email protected].

Opting Out

You can opt out at any time by replying STOP. DriveTime sends a confirmation message that no further SMS messages will be sent unless you later complete a new opt-in flow.
